What We’re Working On This Week:  May 31- June 4

Slide 001

The First Graders completed these fish right before the end of the school year.  I am so proud of my students!

Pre-K This week the Pre-K friends will learn about Georges Seurat.  Seurat was a French painter.  His most famous painting is Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte. This painting is an example of Pointillism- a painting technique in which the artist paints using tiny dots on the canvas, allowing the viewer’s eyes to blend the colors, rather than blending them on the canvas.  Examples of Seurat’s La Grand Jatte and pointillism are below.  More information about Georges Seurat and pointillism can be found by clicking here.   The Pre-K students will use markers this week to create a pointillist dot design.

Preppers The Prepper students will also view Seurat’s work this week.  They will use the dotter stamps to create a dot painiting.

Pre-Preppers The Pre-Prepper students will work on a tissue paper collage this week.  Once dry, we will add a glitter painting to the work.
